Summary

This study develops a dual clutch transmission (DCT) model and shifting controller in a vehicle systems context using Autonomie, a model-based vehicle simulation tool. The Autonomie DCT model and control strategy are validated using vehicle test data from Argonne’s Advanced Powertrain Research Facility. DCTs are advanced transmissions that are more efficient than manual transmissions, improving ride comfort and performance.
