This study explores the image and role of the elderly in classical narrative literature, focusing particularly on the portrayal of the elderly within family relationships. In classical narratives, the elderly are often depicted as wise problem-solvers or conflict mediators, while in Korean classical novels, their role and status as grandparents are emphasized. The study aims to provide a mental foundation for resolving modern aging issues and generational conflicts by examining traditional Korean values through the image of the elderly.
