Summary

This study proposes a system for detecting driver drowsiness by analyzing whether the driver’s eyes are open or closed based on images. The proposed system effectively detects eyes in dark and backlit environments, and achieves an accuracy of 90.09% using Support Vector Machine (SVM). An accuracy of 83.83% was obtained in experiments with drivers wearing glasses, and the detection rate was improved compared to existing PCA methods.
