This study analyzed the experiences of public librarians in providing multicultural education services to explore ways to promote mutual understanding among local residents, and investigated the types of multicultural education programs (for Korean families, international marriage immigrant families, and all) and the challenges and needs of librarians through in-depth interviews. The results showed that multicultural education programs are sustainable services encompassing language, ethnicity, and culture, and public libraries can play an important role as an educational space that enhances intercultural understanding and communication.
