This study analyzed 36 research papers on creativity in practical arts education published up to May 2008 to identify research trends, and examined the concepts, areas, and measurement methods of creativity. The analysis revealed that research was conducted in the order of experimental research, development research, and literature research, and was active in the areas of technology, home economics, and general practical arts. Recently, research on area-specificity has increased, and cognitive ability tests have been mainly used to measure creativity.
