Summary
This study investigated the relationship between foreign language majors’ satisfaction with their studies and their interest in interpretation and translation studies and its impact on language learning achievement. Survey results indicated that students had a positive outlook on their studies when they perceived them as contributing positively to employment and career development, and showed high interest in interpretation and translation courses. Higher major satisfaction and interest in interpretation and translation were associated with better grades, but did not directly affect English Certification Scores.
