Summary

This study investigated the relationship between academic goal self-congruence and goal engagement among 276 university students, and verified the mediating effect of self-leadership. The results showed that academic goal self-congruence significantly influenced goal engagement, and self-leadership partially mediated this relationship. Behavioral strategies and constructive thought strategies showed mediating effects, while natural rewards did not.
