Summary

This study comprehensively investigated the content, causes, and consequences of career concerns among university students with career indecision using Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR). The results revealed that a lack of career goals and a mismatch between major and aptitude were major career concerns, with discrepancies between interest and aptitude, lack of information, and parental opposition identified as contributing factors. Furthermore, career concerns were found to lead to both internal negative outcomes such as loss of motivation, anxiety, and lowered self-confidence, as well as external negative consequences.
