Summary

This study analyzed the word processing characteristics of children with reading difficulties through a word analogy task. The results showed that children with reading difficulties performed similarly to typical children in the correct answer condition, but had slower reaction times or lower accuracy in the phonological and semantic incorrect answer conditions. This suggests that children with reading difficulties have difficulty inhibiting irrelevant phonological and semantic information, which may affect reading comprehension.
