Summary

This study critically analyzes spin-off HRD outsourcing to explore power relations, changes in the status as a strategic partner, and perceptions of expertise among those involved. The findings indicate that while HRD outsourcing aimed for cost reduction and efficiency gains, it was found to be distant from establishing the status of HRD functions within the organization and deepening the expertise of those in charge.
