Summary

This study examined the influence of parenting and adult attachment on romantic relationship satisfaction in early adulthood from a family systems perspective. The results indicated that psychological parenting affected romantic relationship satisfaction by mediating attachment anxiety and avoidance, leading to increased perfectionism in romantic relationships, ambivalence in emotional expression, and fear of intimacy. This suggests that the impact of attachment styles formed through parenting experiences on romantic relationship satisfaction varies.
