Research on Korean modern literature in Japan has a history of over 100 years, starting with discussions among students abroad and socialist literature. The research direction changed according to political situations after the war period and liberation, and became more active with academic depth since the 1970s. Recently, research on Korean modern literature is developing through cooperation between researchers in both countries.
