Summary

This study explores the origins of ‘national reform’ – the core idea in Lee Kwang-soo’s *Minjok Kaejoron* – and elucidates the unique meaning of ‘reform’ through its connection with his Christian theology and literary theory. Lee Kwang-soo sought to elevate beauty, goodness, and morality to the realm of truth through his literary theory and political vision, utilizing the form of Christian ethics to expand morality into a universal good and place it in a transcendental position.
