Summary

This study focuses on the changes in Korean education and their background, analyzing the impact of the Baby Boomer generation's academic credentialism and high educational zeal on the educational achievement of the Echo generation. Considering the differences between the industrial and knowledge-based economies, the study argues that ‘learning ability,’ or the ability to question, is crucial in the knowledge-based economy, and a shift in perception and the education system is necessary for the older generation.
