Summary

This study empirically analyzed the impact of internet sentiment on online and offline protest participation in the 2008 Candlelight Vigil. The analysis revealed that frequent viewing of live broadcasts and videos related to the vigil was associated with active online protest participation, which in turn led to increased offline demonstration participation.
