This study examines the changes in the modern caste system and daily life of the Baekjeong class, and analyzes how the Hyeongpyeong Movement of the Baekjeong people was reflected in literary works. Although the caste system was legally abolished after the Gapo Reform, social discrimination continued, and the Baekjeong people sought liberation through the Hyeongpyeong Movement. While the movement leaned towards socialism and eventually dissolved, it was reflected in literary works such as Jo Myeong-hee's "Nakdonggang" and Hwang Soon-won's "Ilwol," depicting the reality of the Baekjeong people.
