This study examines the reproduction mechanism of the Lee Sang myth in reminiscences about Lee Sang, and explores the principles of the continuous consumption of Lee Sang’s literature through analysis of reminiscences, considering memory as a negotiation between the past and the present. Park Tae-won and Jeong In-taek criticized the public desire to connect Lee Sang’s behavior and aspects to his texts in their reminiscences, and after the publication of the Complete Works of Lee Sang in the 1950s, an excess of private memories and efforts to secure objectivity emerged.
