This study conducted a meta-analysis of 50 previous studies on self-esteem and depression programs for the elderly, revealing a large effect size. Health promotion programs showed the highest effect on self-esteem, while art therapy was most effective for depression and combined programs, and the effect varied depending on program operation factors. These findings provide scientific guidelines that can contribute to improving the mental health and preventing suicide among the elderly.
