Summary

This study analyzed the effect of intensive English teacher training for elementary school teachers in terms of improving teaching ability, particularly promoting communicative language teaching, using COLT analysis. The results showed that teachers' English speaking volume increased after the training, but there was no significant quantitative increase in communicative language teaching types, and grammatical explanations decreased significantly, indicating a change in teachers' communicative teaching attitude and awareness.
