This study explores the phenomenological similarities between the theories of behavioral control explained by Neo-Confucianism and brain science. Specifically, it reveals that the Original Nature theory of Neo-Confucianism and the empathy neuron theory of brain science, as well as Tao Mind and Human Mind of Toegye’s mind theory, are phenomenologically consistent with the functions of the frontal lobe and limbic system. These similarities offer new insights for interdisciplinary research and the field of medicine.
