Summary

This study addresses the limitations of existing multicultural education in response to the changing multicultural society in Korea and explores the applicability of intercultural education widely used in European societies. A survey of middle school social studies teachers on their perceptions of multicultural and intercultural education content in textbooks revealed a high understanding of multicultural education but a low understanding of intercultural education.
