Summary

This study analyzes the desire structure of colonial Joseon filmmakers through the film during the Japanese colonial period. The film reflects the "Joseon boom" of the time and reveals the desire of cultural figures to advance into the empire using colonial materials. It also reflects the Joseon Film Ordinance and the reality of the film industry at the time, showcasing the contradictions of colonial rule and the self-portrait of colonial intellectuals.
