Summary

This study aimed to explore risk and protective factors influencing the kindergarten experiences of young children in poverty. The findings revealed that teachers perceived no significant developmental differences between children in poverty and their peers, but expressed concerns regarding cleanliness, eating habits, cultural experiences, and participation in educational activities. Risk factors included inappropriate parenting attitudes and insufficient parental involvement, while protective factors encompassed teachers’ active teaching practices, kindergartens’ educational functions, and support from the Education Welfare Priority Investment Project.
