Summary

This study comparatively analyzed the psychological characteristics of North Korean and Chinese residents from the perspectives of materialism and collectivism-individualism. Survey results revealed commonalities in both groups, such as stronger materialistic happiness than success orientation and a greater inclination towards collectivism over individualism. However, differences emerged in materialistic success, satisfaction, and satisfaction-envy, with North Korean residents showing a stronger tendency, as well as in collectivism-individualism orientations.
