Summary

The hot deformation behavior of A356/Al2O3 composite was analyzed through compressive tests in the temperature range of 300-500 °C and strain rate range of 0.001-1/s, and its workability was evaluated using a constitutive model based on the hyperbolic sine Arrhenius equation and Dynamic Material Modeling. The activation energy was calculated to be higher than that of pure aluminum, and the optimum processing condition was found at 500 °C and 1/s strain rate, while voids were detected at lower strain rates, deteriorating the workability.
