Summary

This study evaluated the characteristics of inference in 4-6 grade students with reading comprehension difficulties and analyzed their error patterns. The results showed that children with reading comprehension difficulties had significantly lower inference abilities than typically developing children, and there were differences in performance across inference types. Specifically, children with reading comprehension difficulties showed higher rates of failure of literal comprehension.
