This study empirically examines the impact of social entrepreneurs’ capabilities (entrepreneurial competence, relationship capacity, management competency, and social value pursuit) on the economic and social performance of social enterprises, and the moderating effect of education level on these relationships. Management competency and entrepreneurship positively influenced economic performance, while management competency and social value pursuit positively influenced social performance. Education showed a moderating effect on some relationships between capabilities and performance.
