Summary

French departments in Korean universities are facing the double difficulty of motivating their students due to economic factors and the development of machine translation technology. To address this, the French department at University P reformed its curriculum in 2016 and developed a beginner French course to enhance learning motivation. This study analyzes the design, implementation, and evaluation of the beginner French course within the reformed curriculum, and examines the correlation between student characteristics and assessment results.
