Summary

This study investigated the perceptions of early childhood English education among Korean mothers with children aged five to seven, and their children’s actual English learning practices. The findings revealed that mothers recognized the necessity of English education but believed Korean language acquisition should be prioritized, suggesting an appropriate age of seven for English learning, although they often started earlier and actively participated in their children’s English studies.
