Summary

This study investigated the ability to comprehend indirect pragmatic expressions in children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (HF-ASD) and typically developing children (TD), considering the presence of facial expressions. The results showed that children with HF-ASD performed significantly poorer than TD children on tasks involving indirect pragmatic expressions, and facial expressions did not significantly improve comprehension ability in either group.
