This study analyzes personal advertisements published in the modern newspaper 『Jeguksinmun』 to reveal the process of readers emerging as subjective narrators through the characteristics of advertisement description methods. Personal advertisements dealt with various materials such as loss, debt, and fraud, and unfolded in a way that reveals subjectivity through the narrator's emotional expression or evaluation of others. This narrative method contributed to the formation of modern writing methodology and demonstrates the birth of the subject.
