This study aims to bridge the gap between the word "memory" and the phenomenon of "to memorize," extending the efforts to resolve the conceptual discrepancy between "memory" and "Sati" in Buddhist studies. It examines the views of philosophers on memory, rooted in the metaphor of a warehouse and the analogy of records, and explains the phases, processes, and types of memory using cognitive science and neuroscience. Furthermore, it proposes "A-ro-sae-gi-da" as a new Korean term encompassing the memory phenomenon and validates its legitimacy through analysis of perceptual phenomena and constructive memory.
