Summary

This study investigated the effectiveness of a cooperative learning-based English writing activity on reducing learners’ English writing anxiety and promoting the use of English learning indirect strategies. The results showed that the activity had a positive effect on reducing English anxiety and increasing the frequency of indirect strategy use, especially among less-proficient English learners. This suggests that cooperative learning-based English writing activities can be beneficial for English learning.
