Summary

This study investigated the experiences and perceptions of teacher performance evaluation among 10 elementary school teachers in Seoul through in-depth interviews. The results indicated that teachers perceived the evaluation as focused on performance bonuses and limited in promoting a school culture that values student guidance and fostering cooperation within the teaching community. The study proposes expanding the utilization of evaluation results, improving the performance bonus system, enhancing the reliability of multi-faceted evaluations, and reforming the personnel management system.
