Summary

This study investigated the factors and causal structures of pre-service elementary teachers regarding critical thinking and scientific literacy competency. The results showed that critical thinking and scientific literacy factors were differently recognized by grade level, and reflective thinking had a greater influence on scientific explanation and evidence-based conclusion as grade level increased.
