Summary

In the late 1970s, Isadora Duncan’s autobiography gained popularity in Korean society as a symbol of individual freedom and liberation amidst economic development and political upheaval. She was embraced in various fields such as modern art, feminism, and existentialism, and inspired imagination for a “new world” as the “Barefoot Dancer.” This era's aspirations, along with "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and Jung Hyun Jong’s poems, reflected a pursuit of “free bodies” and “immortal spirits.”
