This study examines the relationship between Deleuze-Nietzsche’s eternal recurrence and character education. The generative selectivity of eternal recurrence provides a resource for reconsidering the concept of competence in character education today, prompting reflection on the meaning of true competence beyond neoliberal competitiveness. Based on this, the study aims to contribute to the development of character education by reconsidering the desirable human image, educational purpose, self-responsibility, citizen image, and the meaning of ability.
