This paper examines the publication and reception of Dasan Jeong Yakyong’s *Gyeongseyupyo* during the modern transition in the early 20th century. Dasan’s ideas, published as modern printed materials through Gwangmunsa, were introduced into the intellectual landscape, but were later sealed as ‘ancient texts’ by Japanese publishers. The Joseon Gwangmunhoe attempted to reconstruct Joseon’s intellectual resources under the name of *Silhak*, but received limited approval from the perspective of Western modernity.
