Summary

This study investigated the effect of inhibiting dihydrotestosterone (DHT) production on energy expenditure and fat and carbohydrate oxidation during exercise in mice. The DHT inhibitor group showed significantly higher oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide production in the later phase of exercise compared to the control group, along with increased carbohydrate oxidation. No difference was observed in fat oxidation. These results suggest that changes in DHT concentration may be involved in whole-body fat utilization and could be an important factor affecting exercise capacity.
