Summary

This study evaluated the distribution of lower and upper gastrointestinal symptoms among individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C) and Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC) through a nationwide survey. Individuals with IBS-C reported higher overall gastrointestinal symptom scores and experienced more abdominal pain, constipation, and severe heartburn compared to those with CIC.
