Summary

This study empirically analyzes the macroeconomic relationship between government expenditure and employment structure using regional panel data from 16 cities and provinces in South Korea from 2000 to 2014. The results show that an increase in national fiscal expenditure had a more significant impact on employment structure than regional fiscal expenditure, particularly after the change in employment strategy in 2006, leading to an increase in the proportion of non-regular workers and self-employed individuals.
