Summary

This study comprehensively analyzed the effects of speaking instruction on elementary English learners through meta-analysis. The results showed that speaking instruction had a large overall effect, particularly on accuracy and pronunciation in the cognitive domain, and participation, interest, and anxiety reduction in the affective domain. Furthermore, TBA showed a large effect in both cognitive and affective domains, and effect sizes varied significantly depending on media usage time and role-playing group size.
