Summary

This study examined the acoustic properties of English post-alveolar affricates and fricatives (/ʃ, ʒ, tʃ, dʒ/) produced by Korean learners of English and native North American English speakers. The results showed that Korean learners exhibited weaker voicing in the voiced segments (lower closure intensity, higher CoG), more palatalization (higher F2), and less lip rounding (higher F3) in their pronunciation.
