Summary

This study addresses the insufficient dredging regulations in Korea and proposes a method for selecting dredging target areas based on the freeboard criterion in river design standards, focusing on flood control. Applying this method to the Geum River basin, the Miho stream confluence was identified as a priority dredging site due to significant riverbed aggradation, and the estimated dredging volume was calculated.
