Summary

This study investigates the origins of the principles of educational administration and educational autonomy in Korea. By analyzing recent literature and early writings from the 1950s-60s, the research traces the discussions of the first-generation scholars such as Kang, Kil-soo, Baek, Hyun-Ki, and Kim, Jong-Chul. The findings reveal that the principles of Korean educational autonomy were influenced by the US and introduced through Japan, and the current task is to complement the principles of balance and educational efficiency.
