Summary

This study conducted in-depth interviews with seven married immigrant women who had lost their spouses and analyzed their experiences phenomenologically. The analysis revealed five categories – ‘happy marriage life’, ‘death of spouse’, ‘life to be lived alone’ – and summarized the experience of bereavement as an effort to live an independent life after the loss.
