Summary

This study reinterprets Hur Woong’s honorific system from the perspective of grammar education and views expressions problematic in school grammar as grammatically correct through the lens of indirect honorifics. Furthermore, it proposes categorizing Hao style and Hagae style within the levels of modest and no honorifics, based on Hur Woong’s perspective, to address the issue of hearer honorific levels not aligning with learners’ language intuition.
