This study analyzes the problems of the revised parental authority law for preventing child abuse and protecting child victims. Given that most child abuse perpetrators are parents, state intervention in parental authority is crucial, and the civil law regulations related to parental authority have also been revised after the enactment of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes. However, the revised civil law regulations cause confusion due to interpretative defects and uncertain concepts, requiring improvement.
