Summary
This study measured the mental health status of 2571 correctional officers in South Korea, assessing levels of burnout, occupational stress, job satisfaction, depression, and self-esteem. The results indicated higher burnout and occupational stress, and lower job satisfaction and self-esteem among correctional officers compared to other occupations. These findings highlight the need for a regular mental health assessment system and solutions to improve the mental health of correctional officers.
