Summary

This study investigated the relationship between chronotype and problematic drinking in patients with mood disorder, considering gender differences. In female patients, eveningness was significantly associated with higher AUDIT scores compared to other chronotypes, while no significant difference was observed among chronotypes in male patients. These findings suggest a potential link between eveningness and problematic drinking in female patients with mood disorder, and propose that chronotherapeutic treatment might be beneficial.
